End-of-summer updates!

A trip to DC, new filming, and more...

SYATL Event:

My trip to Washington, D.C. began at the Library of Congress with the See You at the Library event. Three years ago we were being locked out of libraries; this year we were invited by the Department of Education to the largest library in the world, the Library of Congress, to teach American children the truth about faith, hope, and love. Rather than begging for a seat at the cultural table, Brave Books and I built a new one and the Trump administration pulled up a chair. With over 200 libraries participating, my, oh my... how the tides are turning!

With special words from Michael Knowles and the support of hundreds of public libraries across the country, it was a powerful reminder of the importance of faith and freedom.

It’s proof that parents, grandparents, and kids still hunger for truth and goodness in a culture that often forgets both. The ripple effect of these gatherings continues to grow, and I’m grateful to have witnessed it firsthand.

Catching up with good friends:

While in Washington, D.C., my son and I also enjoyed a private tour of the Capitol with my good friend, Speaker Mike Johnson, where we discovered treasures like George Washington’s crypt, a secret emergency passage, and more unforgettable moments that made the trip one James and I will remember forever!

Visit to CHM:

This month, I also got to visit to my friends at Christian Healthcare Ministries, and I left incredibly encouraged by the ways they’re serving families of faith—mine included—through healthcare. With new technology, expanded networks of doctors, and creative, God-honoring solutions, CHM is making a HUGE difference for hundreds of thousands of Christians. As a member myself, I’m very thankful and proud of the work they’re doing—it truly is a ministry as much as it is a service. Click the button I’ve provided below to learn about the options they have specifically suited for you and your family!

Kirk Cameron Show:

I’ve never had more fun filming a show than I do with my own sons and daughters on The Kirk Cameron Show! Their talent, humor, and creativity make every moment enjoyable, whether we’re tackling Scripture, diving into controversial cultural debates, or laughing at viral videos. With over 50 episodes already completed, the word is spreading, and the feedback has been so encouraging. I love that this show is becoming a place where faith, family, and truth can shine in the middle of today’s chaos.

I’ll leave you with this quote that has got me thinking this month…

“Every man is as close to God as he wants to be.” ~A.W. Tozer

How often do we complain about not feeling close to God, when it’s WE who are not drawing close to Him? Tozer’s observation reminds me of this verse in Mathew: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you".

I feel convicted to make sure I am daily asking, seeking, and knocking on the doors of prayer, scripture, worship, godly community, etc. Join me this new month of September by making a commitment to God and to yourself to refuse to be complacent in your faith, and to instead actively draw close to the Lord every day!

God bless you, and happy (almost) Fall! 🍁
