Personal Recap, 2025!
What a year!
I’m still processing everything that’s happened this past year. It was truly overflowing! Here are a few updates from the last month of 2025…
Father-Son Hunting Trip in the Bayou:
I got to close out the year with our annual father-son hunting trip to Louisiana. While the Bayou will never be the same now that Phil Robertson has gone to be with the Lord, we still had a great time and brought home lots of high-quality protein for delicious family dinners. Personally, fresh duck and venison send me into Worship! I think our friend Phil would agree.
Did You Hear About This?
As many of you probably saw, I caught quite a bit of heat for discussing the topic of hell on a much watched and reacted to episode of the Kirk Cameron show. If you’ve not yet seen it, you can just Google the “Kirk Cameron hell controversy,”but please make sure you watch my actual video Conversation with my son, James, and see my response video to the viral controversy. I believe this is an important moment for the family of faith, and I look forward to my promised upcoming roundtable discussion with the best of the best Christian thinkers on this subject!
Christmas at the Farm House:

Christmas at the farmhouse was an extra special treat for us this year! The kids were really thankful that Santa received our change of address and managed to get their presents under the new farmhouse tree in Tennessee. One of my personal dreams is to have a few acres of dirt, raise some farm animals, grow food for our family, and have room for a big, festive gathering of family and friends for holidays. My chickens are already laying the full pallet of colors, and the new chicken coop I’ve been building with my dad in the garage just might win an award for design!

A mountain hike with my wife let us to a secret prayer chapel hidden in the woods: the perfect place to reflect on the past year, pray together, and look over the mountain range below us, reminded of this verse…
"I lift up my eyes to the hills—from where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth" ~Psalm 121:1-2
100,00 Strong Winners:

Thank you to all who participated in our Christmas fundraising event: “100,000 Strong.” We were able to raise lots of money for three worthy charities selected by all of you who contributed and voted! #1: Camp Firefly, #2: Saint Judes Children’s Hospital, and #3: Wild Ops were the most-voted for charities! I’m thrilled that we were able to support the life-changing work these organizations are doing!
A Personal Recommendation:
Speaking of life-changing organizations, I was reminded even more in 2025 of how very thankful I am that my family was able to escape from the traditional healthcare scam that millions of Americans deal with daily! Christian Healthcare Ministries is the only way we did this, and I recommend them to every brother & sister in Christ I know. This video describes the very frustrating situation you too are likely to find yourself in and what I believe is the PERFECT, practical, biblical solution to this issue!
A New Year’s Encouragement:
As we move into this new year, as Christians, we are called to “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer” (Romans 12:12). 2026 will no doubt carry all of those things: hope, tribulation, and opportunities for prayer! Let’s make it a year where we set our gaze on Christ, dedicate ourselves to bringing His kingdom to earth, and remember, as C.S. Lewis put it, that “There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind!”
May God bless you, and Happy New Year!
